Are you currently sleeping rough?

People’s options and entitlement for accommodation can be complicated and technical. Therefore, the starting point for accessing lots of services is a thorough assessment with an experienced rough sleeper service.

You can report yourself on Streetlink, leaving contact details, and we will come to you when we are out on shift.

Alternatively, you can come to an assessment drop in. These are:

  • Monday 2pm at the Compass Centre
  • Tuesday 11am at the Methodist Centre
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am at the Compass Centre

We also have assessment workers that attend the Julian Trust and Wild Goose services in the evenings. If you are there, please ask for more information.

Are you about to become homeless, or already homeless but not currently sleeping rough?

If you need housing advice because you are about to become homeless, it is important that you get advice as soon as possible.

You can get advice at Bristol City Council’s Citizen Service Point.

Citizen Service Point
100 Temple Street

Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 9am to 4pm
Wednesday – 10am to 4pm
Tel: 0117 3526800

You can also get advice and support from dedicated housing advisors at Shelter

Alternatively, you can look on the Bristol City Council website for advice about housing and homelessness. Please note that the content relating to housing and homelessness advice on Bristol City Council’s website is currently under redevelopment. This is to reflect significant legislative changes that are coming into force in April 2018.

Taking early action can avoid reaching crisis point. There is good advice and guidance available online from the following organisations, that you can also find listed under the Housing Advice tab:

Citizens Advice Bureau CAB
Money Advice Service MA

There are also advice and support services available in Bristol

The Advice Network ACFA
