Fundraise
Back to topCaring in Bristol runs a number of small volunteer lead shelters in Bristol, many of which require funds to pay for equipment (milk, sugar, hot chocolate), members of staff to run shelters through the night and to advertise for more volunteers and physical donations. If you are able to help us help people experiencing homelessness, please get in touch!
Donate Food
Back to topCaring in Bristol runs a year round low support need shelter called the 365 Shelter. As this is open 365 days you can imagine the amount of hot drinks that we serve! We need donations of coffee, tea, sugar and hot chocolate. We also need regular donations of fresh milk. If you are able to help, please get in touch.

Back to topThe 365 Shelter
A night shelter for people sleeping rough in Bristol, open 365 days a year.
The 365 Shelter offers a safe alternative to a night on the streets to up to fifteen people who would otherwise be sleeping rough.
The shelter is a partnership with St Mungo’s Street Outreach Team and the Quakers. It works in a pop-up style operating overnight from Bristol Central Quaker Meeting House. Guests at the shelter are referred to us by the Outreach Team following an initial assessment; where guests are found to have low support needs that can be met by a volunteer team, we’re an appropriate shelter for people to be referred to.
Every night, two of our brilliant volunteers open the shelter at 10pm, provide hot drinks and a welcoming environment to guests and then remain at the shelter until morning. By 8am, the shift is over and the building is returned to its normal use, until that evening, when we do it all again.
We ask volunteers joining the team to consider committing one night a month. Our inspirational volunteer team includes students, mid-career professionals and retired couples from a range of backgrounds, all of whom share a simple commitment to offering more than a night on the street to people sleeping rough in Bristol.
